When visiting the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, there are three on-site resorts to choose from…as well as a ton of great Good Neighbor hotels. Rather than overwhelm you with information about all the options at once, I’d like to highlight one resort at a time.

Disneyland’s Paradise Pier Hotel

With just 481 rooms and 25 suites, Paradise Pier is the smallest of the Disneyland Resort’s three hotels. As part of your stay at any Disneyland Resort hotel, you receive the added benefits of:

  • Easy park access. The entire resort is walkable. If you’re moving quickly, with no kids in tow and no stopping for photos or popcorn, you can walk from the back of the park to your hotel in about 20-25 minutes. The convenience can’t be beat!
  • Extra Magic Hour. As a Disneyland Resort guest, you can take advantage of early access to the parks every day of your stay. Select areas and attractions are available during the Extra Magic Hour. Currently, guests may arrive one hour prior to park opening at Disneyland Park on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, and at Disney California Adventure Park on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.
  • Enchanted experiences. Would you like to have a Disney character call to wake the kids in the morning? As a Disneyland Resort guest, you can do that! You can also find character dining experiences at all three hotels, and you will often see characters walking around the resort, stopping to take photos and chat with guests. You won’t find these magical touches anywhere else.
  • Added conveniences. Use your Key to the Magic card to easily charge meals and merchandise right to your room—and have your Resort purchases delivered directly to your hotel with the Merchandise Delivery service. This is especially nice when you have to bring home millennial pink ears for all your friends and don’t want to lug them through the park all day…or risk them selling out before you can make it back to the shop at the end of the day!

Hotel Rooms

The majority of rooms at Paradise Pier sleep up to 5 guests in two queen beds and a day bed. These rooms come in two view types – standard and premium. In a standard view room, you will have a view of Disneyland Drive or the parking area. In a premium view room, you will have a view of Disney California Adventure Park. The room pictured is a premium view room, at sunset. I enjoyed a gorgeous view of the back of the park, and had I been in my hotel room at the right time, I could have enjoyed World of Color through the window, while playing the music on the TV in my room. This is a great way to see the show if you have little ones who can’t “hang.”

Club Level Service

Both standard and premium view rooms are also available with Club Level service. Club Level guests receive all the amenities listed above, as well as nightly turndown service, personal assistance from the Concierge staff, and exclusive access to the Beachcomber Club on the 2nd floor of the hotel. The Beachcomber Club serves a continental breakfast from 6:30am to 10:30am; snacks from 10:00am to 5:00pm; complimentary wine, beer, and appetizers from 5:00pm to 7:00pm; and desserts from 7:00pm to 8:00pm. This is a great way to have food readily available throughout the day without having to seek out a restaurant.

Large Families

Do you need a larger room? Paradise Pier also has one-bedroom suites (sleep 6 guests), two-bedroom suites (sleep 10 guests), and signature suites (sleep up to 13 guests!) to choose from. A one-bedroom suite, with two queen beds, sleeper sofa, and two full bathrooms, is pictured below.

Additional Details

Paradise Pier is a small hotel, but it provides everything you need, all in very close proximity. There is a great rooftop pool when it’s time for a break, with The Sand Bar open seasonally for quick meals. The Surfside Lounge serves food daily and is a great spot to pick up a quick breakfast or cup of coffee before heading to the park in the morning. It’s also a great place to pick up a beverage at the end of a long day. PCH Grill offers a character buffet breakfast daily. Guests of the hotel can always access patio seating behind The Sand Bar on the pool deck and watch the fireworks at Disneyland Park without having to battle the crowds on Main Street U.S.A. Paradise Pier is truly a hidden gem that should be considered for your next visit to the Disneyland Resort!
