I will never forget the very first time that we took both of our daughters to Walt Disney World. Our oldest daughter made her first pilgrimage at 11 months old and our second daughter visited for the first time at 7 months old.

What is the best age for a first visit to Walt Disney World?

There’s no time like the present!

Here are the top four reasons why you shouldn’t wait to take baby to enjoy all the magic at Disney theme parks and resorts.

 1. They’re free!

That’s right, little guests under the age of 3 at the time of check-in do not require a theme park ticket or dining plan. This doesn’t mean they can’t enjoy attractions in Disney Theme Parks or character interactions!  Anything that doesn’t have a height requirement can be enjoyed by Baby. And there are plenty of those opportunities. 🙂

2. They bring everyone together!

When you bring baby with you to enjoy Disney World, other family members are MORE than happy to tag along. Grandparents want in on that magic, too!  Adding grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins — you get the idea! — just adds to the memories.

More people also equals more hands to help. This allows for someone to take baby back to the room for an afternoon nap while parents stay and enjoy the park with big brother(s) and/or sister(s), or for parents to sneak off to enjoy some park time or a date night dinner.

3.  Disney’s Baby Care Centers are amazing!

In each theme park on the Walt Disney World property, there are Baby Care Centers where you can duck in and take care of some of those more basic needs during the day while at the park. You can change a diaper, change baby’s clothes, feed your baby using a highchair, nurse in a private room with a rocking chair, or use the kitchen area that has a microwave, oven and sink. There is also a bathroom in the facility for adults or other family members. You can even make some purchases of things that maybe you forgot or ran out of before the end of your day — such as formula, baby food, juice, diapers, wipes, sunscreen, over the counter medications, and clothing.

4.  Priceless memories are made.

When we made our first trip with my oldest daughter, we were some of the last people to load the plane. She was by far the youngest on the flight.  Apparently, when we loaded there was a man who was sitting with his grandson behind my mother and he pointed to us and told his grandson:

“You see that. She won’t even remember this trip. That is a waste of money.”

My mother relayed this to me once we landed and she chuckled while telling me:

“He doesn’t even get it. It’s not about her memories; it’s about ours.”

I couldn’t POSSIBLY agree more with my mother and won’t ever forget that moment or her perspective. I don’t know that my kids will ever “remember” some of these particular moments of visiting our most favorite place when they were so young. But I WILL. I will never forget.
