Let’s face it. Buying essentials at a resort gift shop is not usually a magical experience — options are limited, prices can be high, and it’s not fun to (potentially) overspend on items you may not use up before it’s time to return home. Nor is it ideal, for example, to fill a checked bag with diapers and wipes when traveling with a baby.
Never fear! You have options.
#1: Ship necessities from home or order them online.
Mailing items is often more cost effective than buying them with resort price tags attached. Walt Disney World Resorts can, at their discretion, charge a $5 receiving fee to your room folio, but it’s generally $5 well spent when compared to inflated prices or checked luggage fees.
The most important thing is to address the package correctly. Be sure to include the following information:
Name of LEAD Guest on your Reservation
Arrival Date
Resort Name
Resort Address
City, State and Zip
If you are sending the box from home and addressing it yourself, it’s also a good idea to write “GUEST” large, in several places on your box, so Bell Services can easily see that it need to be set aside for your arrival. The best carriers to use are UPS and FedEx, if you get to choose. If you’re using USPS, allow several extra days. Deliveries through USPS take a little longer, as they’re sorted at a central Disney location before even making it it to the resort.

#2: Use a local delivery service — like Instacart, Amazon Prime Now, or Shipt.
Another great option is to use a local delivery service to purchase necessities, especially if you’d like to keep anything perishable on hand. When using one of these services, you must schedule a time that you will be able to receive the order at the resort. If you’re scheduling a delivery on your arrival day, it’s a good idea to give yourself a few extra hours in case you run into any travel delays.
