When you are a guest at the Walt Disney World Resort, you have access to complimentary transportation of many kinds. There are monorails, buses, and water ferries. If you’re staying at one of our fabulous on-site Disney Hotels, you can also take advantage of Disney’s Magical Express, a complimentary and convenient airport shuttle and luggage service.

The newest transportation option opened late September 2019. After a few initial glitches, it is now running smoothly and is a FANTASTIC and FUN addition to the Walt Disney World Resort. Here’s what you need to know.

All About Disney’s Skyliner

Disney’s Skyliner is an aerial gondola system that connect two parks and four different on-site hotels. It’s complimentary to all Disney guests and really fun to use!

Each gondola can seat at least 8 people — though, based on crowd levels and the time of day, you could potentially have one all to yourself. There’s no heat or air conditioning, but vents on both sides offer a refreshing breeze. We were very comfortable. And views can be AMAZING!

SKYLINER HOURS: The hours may vary by day in accordance with park hours, but generally the Skyliner is running from about 7:30am to 10pm. You should see a sign at the entrance with the day’s operating hours. If you can’t find it or aren’t sure, find a Disney Castmember. They’ll be happy to help you.

Check out the map below to see where the lines run.

If you’re staying at one of the hotels listed on the map, you may have reduced bus schedules to the parks serviced by Disney’s Skyliner. And this is totally okay! The Skyliner has proven far easier and quicker than the bus routes.

Note that you may need to exit your gondola and transfer to another to get where you want to go.

For example, if you want to go from Disney’s Hollywood Studios to Disney’s Epcot (as we did), you’ll board at Hollywood Studios (outside the park entrance, near the water’s edge of the parking lot), then ride to Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort. There you’ll disembark and transfer to another gondola that can take you the rest of the way.

The trip from Hollywood Studios to Caribbean Beach took about 8 minutes. The trip from Caribbean Beach to Epcot took another 13-15 minutes. (We were enjoying the ride and the view so much we forgot to check our timers!)

A Gondola Game :

You may not have to wait long for your gondola. Our line moved so quickly we barely noticed there was a line! But if you do have to wait, make it a game. There are dozens of different designs, almost all of them featuring different characters. See how many you can find! You’ll notice that the different sides may feature different surprises, too.
