We all want to live in a kinder world, so we’ve put together a list of ways you can help spread a little extra magic on your next Disney vacation.
🔴 Tip Mousekeeping. They take care of you during your stay…take care of them, too!
⚪️ Buy the person behind you in line a drink, a Mickey bar, or a popcorn. A free treat tastes even better!
🔴 Leave quarters and pennies in the pressed penny machines. The next person gets a free souvenir.
⚪️ Compliment another guest on their child’s behavior, or their Disney bounding outfit. Everybody loves a compliment out of the blue!
🔴 Let someone go ahead of you in line. Is the family behind you trying to deal with a child about to have a melt down? If you’re not about to have a meltdown of your own, let them go before you.
⚪️ Pay for the car behind you at the toll booth for parking. What a magical way to start the day!
🔴 Give up your seat on the bus, boat, or monorail. Everyone is tired at the end of the day, but if someone older than you needs a seat…or a mama with a sleeping baby, give it up.
⚪️ Offer to take pictures for couples or families. Every family member should be in the picture, and not everyone purchases Memory Maker. You can help capture a family memory they can cherish for years to come.
🔴 Buy a child a balloon, or re-gift yours before you leave.
⚪️ Buy a new stuffed animal, and leave it in a random stroller with a note about giving him/her a new home.
🔴 Give Thank You notes. The message can be as simple as, “Thank you for making our vacation magical”. Leave them with the bus driver or with the tip at dinner, hand them to the parade attendant, the Dapper Dans, or a maintenance worker, or give them to a ride attendant or to a character’s handler. Everyone likes to be appreciated.
⚪️ During your day, take notes of any cast member who did an exceptional good job. Note their first name, the location you met them, the date, and the approximate time. Then, as you are leaving the park, stop by guest relations and fill out a Cast Member Fanatic Card. The cast member will then be officially recognized for their actions by a superior.
Another way you can thank a cast member for a job well done is to tweet it! Share your rave review on Twitter using the hashtag #CastCompliment, and be sure to also tag @WDWToday. Bonus brownie points if you have a photo to share as well.
